Are you an ARC reader? Would you like to read Vintage Texas Crime stories and send me your feedback?
FYI – An ARC, or Advanced Reader Copy, is a pre-release version of a book that authors send to reviewers. ARCs are a common publishing strategy that can help authors in a number of ways, including:
- Generating reviews: ARCs are a way for authors to get reviews before the book is published. These reviews can be used in ad copy, author newsletters, and more.
- Building anticipation: ARCs can help build anticipation for the book’s launch.
- Providing social proof: Reviews from ARC readers can provide social proof for interested readers.
- Promoting the book: ARCs can be given to media outlets for publicity in print, online, podcasts, TV, and radio interviews.
- ARCs are often uncorrected proofs or pre-final versions of the book. They can be distributed physically or digitally.
